Construction...

I chose to work with leatherette and latex as it went well with my theme and
gave me the shape and feel i was hoping for.

After getting my fabrics it was time to actually make my piece.
I was finding it quite hard to actually translate my initial design onto the manequin, so after a nice chat
with Mairead I forgot about my design and began to just go with whatever i felt was write on the mannequin.

After time I developed Ideas that I hadn't initially thought of and my design started to completely change.

I also re did my illustration to fit my design better.

After a week of construction I finally made my neck piece and here it is
Modelled by Derv.

Sunday

Design Process

Trying to find my own way of designing will take some time so I decided to take the same direction as before in the shape up project. I pulled shapes from the analytical drawings and played with them on the mannequin and croquis to create designs.

I picked my favourite design and then started to resize and alter it slightly.

Documenting...

When we had our sculptures made we were asked to do analytical drawings
in as many forms as possible in a range of mediums.
Firstly I took photographs of my objects and decided to draw from them.

Next I did some analytical drawings with as many mediums as possible.

Friday

Sculpture..

After we created our moodboards, We had to come up with and create a 3d object.
I picked my favourite board to work with which was the word agony.
I chose to go explore different types of  agony.
The first one was torture and by cutting and stapling a sheet of latex which i wanted to resemble skin.
Next I burnt a sheet of latex to resemble a 2nd degree burn on skin.
